The 2017 Nissan GT-R has arrived and it’s better than ever before! Since there really isn’t much room to improve on performance the 2017 Nissan GT-R brings forth small changes that improve the quality of driving but believe it or not the 2017 Nissan GT-R has changed more in this model year than ever before. Everything from aerodynamics to the new tech included in the 2017 Nissan GT-R has been updated for this model year. You may not be able to spot the changes immediately as the look of the vehicle is generally the same, it’s what was changed under the hood that really matters. Find out more about the 2017 Nissan GT-R in the video below from our friends over at The Motor Trend Channel.

If that wasn’t enough for you check out some of the key features of the brand new 2017 Nissan GT-R below.

The GT-R’s rear end has been elongated on the sides to redirect the air away from the end of the bumper, keeping hot gases away, to assist in cooling the exhaust.

When air is drawn underneath the vehicle many issues may arise especially at high speeds. That is why the area around the C-Pillar has been reworked to help reduce turbulence, and to send the air flow to the end of the body.

With the new grille and larger grille openings the key components are allowed even more airflow than before. The front end of the vehicle has been reshaped and it now directs more air to the front wheels to help reduce drag.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R is available with semi-aniline soft touch leather on the door panels, center console, shift knob, and of course the seats. If you’re looking for a new world of comfort then this is definitely a must have.

Every Nissan GT-R houses a hand-built engine that was assigned to a single technician. The engine has a crest on it with the signature of the technician who hand built the engine. The engine is built in a controlled environment much like race cars are.

The more a driver is forced to shift, the less time power is being delivered to the wheels. To achieve your fastest lap time take control of the GT-R’s paddle shifted 6 speed dual clutch transmission and listen as the gears change in just 0.15 seconds while in the GT-R’s performance mode, R-Mode.

The engine in the 2017 Nissan GT-R was designed to put the vehicle in the same class as the super cars with less weight and much better fuel efficiency. Some call it a win-win for Nissan.

Take a close look and you can see the time and effort that was put in to redesign the front and rear end of the vehicle. The new design is meant to send more air to the front wheels to reduce drag and to prevent air from being drawn underneath the vehicle, all while keeping the exhaust cool.

One of the main reasons the GT-R sticks to the road so easily, especially at high speeds, is due to the underbody of the vehicle. Unlike your average car the GT-R’s underbody is covered by composite panels which allow more airflow to be directed towards the brakes and the rear diffuser to assist in stopping and gripping the road.

The NissanConnect system offers a great way to stay connected while at the wheel. The 8 inch color display serves up important locations like ATMs, restaurants, and gas stations nearby. The voice guided directions will help you get where you need to be without any confusion.

Nissan’s Intelligent Key allows you to simply tap a button on your door handle to unlock and lock your door. Your keys never have to leave your pocket to enter and start the GT-R. Just get in and go!

The available RearView Monitoring system displays what is directly behind you and it even includes a wide 180° view for an even better field of vision.

When you own such a classy and expensive vehicle you don’t want it to suffer any damage. That is why the available front and rear sonar sensors aide you in parking by making a noise when you’re getting a little to close to an object.

Nissan’s Advanced Air Bag System provides the driver with dual stage front air bags with seat belt sensors and a passenger classification sensor. The rate at which the airbags deploy at is dependent on the crash severity and more. It is quite the complex safety system.

Price Tag

Has the idea of a new SUV or car popped into your head recently? It may be time to get yourself into a newer more fuel efficient vehicle, especially with the uncertainty of gas prices. It can be quite difficult to find the right vehicle for your situation since there are so many options on the market today. When it comes to fuel efficiency we look to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for their take on specific models before we recommend anything to our customers.

Subaru Dynamometer
There are tools available like the dynamometer that allow us to test a vehicle’s engine versus one another but this system is very lackluster when it comes to measuring the amount of miles per gallon the vehicle is capable of in real-world situations. The EPA has recently begun running these tests on vehicle with more real-world factors involved like faster acceleration, fast speeds in the city and on the highway, low temperature, and internal devices like the air conditioning. All of these factors affect your vehicle’s MPG rating.

2017 Subaru Impreza Bertera Subaru Outlet in Hartford
These new tests that are used to determine the average miles per gallon a vehicle offers are very useful in the car shopping experience. Customers aren’t shopping for surprises so it’s better to let them know what they’re in store for before they finalize the deal. Be sure to do your research as many vehicles from as early as 2008 are still quite competitive with today’s equivalents. You can ask any of our salespeople for advice and they will be more than happy to provide you with an answer and even a recommendation for your next vehicle.

For more information on today’s newest models and how they compare against one another be sure to check out this PDF.

The larger the family grows the more difficult it becomes to manage a proper budget. You are forced to make pretty big decisions for the whole family including what type of vehicle will be used to transport the kiddos. Many things should be taken into consideration when making this decision like the size, the design, convenience features and more.

Whether you’re in the market for a SUV, minivan, or a crossover there are certain features you should take into account when car shopping. Gas mileage is a pretty big deal these days, especially when gas fluctuates at such an extreme rate. Minivans and Crossovers dominate this portion. If you need a fuel-efficient vehicle with more than enough room for the whole family then a minivan may be the direction you should gravitate towards. Now, if you need the capability of an SUV as well as plenty of room a SUV may be your best choice. Compact SUVs can get the job done but if you are looking to tow items or carry a large family they can be problematic in hilly areas, especially in the winter. Crossovers are the middleground. Many crossover models offer the same capability SUVs offer but with a much smaller footprint. This can sometimes be the most economic decision depending on where you live and how large your family is.

While gas mileage may be a key factor in your decision to purchase a vehicle it should not be the primary reason you are making the decision to spend thousands of dollars on a new vehicle. Not filling up as much can add up over time but sometimes a vehicle’s warranty may be worth losing those three or four miles per gallon. Owning a vehicle is a commitment and should be treated like one. When something breaks it is your responsibility to make sure that it gets fixed. While under warranty you can rest assured since the manufacturer has no choice but to cover the costs. Save yourself the headache and look for a vehicle that gets a decent combined MPG but also has a warranty you find acceptable for your use.

The safety rating should be another key factor in your decision to purchase a vehicle for your family. Surely you have heard about SUVs being more likely to roll over in an accident. That sounds pretty terrifying, but realistically you can roll any vehicle. It is completely dependant on just how fast you were going and how the collision itself happened. According to stats gathered back in 2005 by the Insurance institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), large SUVs have one of the lowest mortality rates – roughly 24 people are killed for every million vehicles registered. The does not even come close to the Midsize SUVs average mortality rate of 57 deaths per million, or the 70 deaths per million involved in an accident with a crossover in general.

Purchasing a new vehicle can be a pretty intimidating process. Do your research on a number of vehicles before you make your final decision. Be sure to study the facts rather than the marketing schemes the manufacturers come up with. When it comes down to it, if SUVs were really that bad why would so many people own them? Do your research and you will be fine. If you need assistance finding the perfect vehicle please do not hesitate to reach out to any of our Bertera locations for advice and assistance.

Back during the 1950s through the mid 1970s, Detroit car manufacturers produced numerous cars that were out and out muscle cars. Today, muscle cars have made a comeback, despite even higher gas prices. The future for the muscle car segment as a whole is very bright. Especially with so many old models being revamped as of late.

During this time there was a fleet of manufacturers producing their own spin on 1966DodgeCharger383the “Muscle Automobile.” Some of these versions include the Ford Mustang, Fairlane 500, and Torino; The Mercury Montego; Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette; Pontiac GTO, Firebird, and Tempest; Oldsmobile 442; American Motors’ Javelin; Plymouth Cuda, and Dodge had their Charger and challenger. Fortunately, today the Corvette, Camaro, Challenger, Charger, and Mustang are still going strong with updated models. The Dodge Magnum wagon also made a brief appearance from 2005 to 2008 but would not sell as well as Dodge had hoped.

Please enjoy this gallery of our favorite vehicles from last year’s Hot-rods for Heroes car show!

[rev_slider Metro.Muscle.Slider]

In 2005 we watched as the Ford Mustang underwent a complete transformation modeled after the 1960’s look. This update caught on along with the other manufacturers and brought us refreshed muscle cars like the 4 door Dodge Charger in 2006, the Dodge Challenger in 2008, or like the Chevrolet Camaro in 2007. Along with the new looks these models all received a complete overhaul under the hood. We would soon see these production muscle cars as production racecars.

The Mustang, Charger, Challenger, and Camaro have opened the gates for manufacturers to revive their old models. Some concepts we have or would be interested in seeing return to the roads would be the Pontiac GTO, Firebird, and Tempest. There have also been rumours of a Cuda in the works as well. What other oldies would you like to be revived with a new look and performance? Let us know in the comment section below.

During the early 1970s, the then present crop of muscle cars received just ten to twelve miles to the gallon around town and fifteen to sixteen miles per gallon on the highway. Although fuel mileage will definitely be lower than many other models, the brand-new group will still be much more fuel efficient than the previous generation of muscle cars.

Today’s muscle cars use a number of different engine and transmission pairings to 2008DodgeChallengerprovide us with what seems to be an endless amount of combinations. Unlike their predecessors today’s muscle cars are so advanced that we can even change the mode our vehicle is set to, to improve the performance on different terrains like the track or street. They may only resemble their predecessor’s looks but the next generation of muscle cars provide a lot more than we can summarize in this blog post. Head on over to our dealership to take one today’s muscle cars for a spin.

If you are ready to find the perfect next-gen muscle car then give us a visit online or in-store today! We have a number of Dodge Challengers and Chargers available for purchase. You can always find gently used muscle cars in our used inventory as well. Give us a call and we would be happy to help you find the perfect vehicle for yourself.
