Sunday September eighteenth marked the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Holyoke Community College. A few hundred people came out to show their support for the cause by walking anywhere from a quarter mile to a full mile and a half. Mix 93.1 and 94.7 WMAS were both on site with prizes and great music for the event. Although we were a little short we still managed to gather $150,481.57 of our $231,000 goal!

Amount Raised Alzheimer's Walk

There were a number of events before the walk officially began including a ceremony, warm-up Zumba and a whole slough of tents and vendors. There was useful information for those looking to make the switch to a retirement community. There were a few retirement organizations present with entire teams prepared to walk including Loomis Communities, Brookdale Senior Living, Home Instead Senior Care and more! It was great to see everyone come out in support of the End to Alzheimer’s.

The Palmer High School Band was present and ready to set the pace for the participants. They did an excellent job keeping all of the walkers hyped up too! If you took part in the End to Alzheimer’s walk feel free to send us your photos and we will add it to our collection.
