Back during the 1950s through the mid 1970s, Detroit car manufacturers produced numerous cars that were out and out muscle cars. Today, muscle cars have made a comeback, despite even higher gas prices. The future for the muscle car segment as a whole is very bright. Especially with so many old models being revamped as of late.
During this time there was a fleet of manufacturers producing their own spin on the “Muscle Automobile.” Some of these versions include the Ford Mustang, Fairlane 500, and Torino; The Mercury Montego; Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette; Pontiac GTO, Firebird, and Tempest; Oldsmobile 442; American Motors’ Javelin; Plymouth Cuda, and Dodge had their Charger and challenger. Fortunately, today the Corvette, Camaro, Challenger, Charger, and Mustang are still going strong with updated models. The Dodge Magnum wagon also made a brief appearance from 2005 to 2008 but would not sell as well as Dodge had hoped.

In 2005 we watched as the Ford Mustang underwent a complete transformation modeled after the 1960’s look. This update caught on along with the other manufacturers and brought us refreshed muscle cars like the 4 door Dodge Charger in 2006, the Dodge Challenger in 2008, or like the Chevrolet Camaro in 2007. Along with the new looks these models all received a complete overhaul under the hood. We would soon see these production muscle cars as production racecars.
The Mustang, Charger,Challenger, and Camaro have opened the gates for manufacturers to revive their old models. Some concepts we have or would be interested in seeing return to the roads would be the Pontiac GTO, Firebird, and Tempest. There have also been rumours of a Cuda in the works as well. What other oldies would you like to be revived with a new look and performance? Let us know in the comment section below.
During the early 1970s, the then present crop of muscle cars received just ten to twelve miles to the gallon around town and fifteen to sixteen miles per gallon on the highway. Although fuel mileage will definitely be lower than many other models, the brand-new group will still be much more fuel efficient than the previous generation of muscle cars.
Today’s muscle cars use a number of different engine and transmission pairings to provide us with what seems to be an endless amount of combinations. Unlike their predecessors today’s muscle cars are so advanced that we can even change the mode our vehicle is set to, to improve the performance on different terrains like the track or street. They may only resemble their predecessor’s looks but the next generation of muscle cars provide a lot more than we can summarize in this blog post. Head on over to our dealership to take one today’s muscle cars for a spin.
If you are ready to find the perfect next-gen muscle car then give us a visit online or in-store today! We have a number of Dodge Challengers and Chargers available for purchase. You can always find gently used muscle cars in our used inventory as well. Give us a call and we would be happy to help you find the perfect vehicle for yourself.

Some of the changes mentioned above include the available Cummins V8 turbo diesel engine, Tow/Haul mode, a trailer brake controller, Around View Monitor and Trailer Light Check. CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL
Available on the new 2017 Nissan TITAN and TITAN XD is the Cummins 5.0-L V8 Turbo Diesel. It makes the new TITAN XD as powerful as it’s competition. This engine delivers heavy-duty horsepower and torque, and does it with groundbreaking fuel efficiency.

The 2017 Subaru Impreza has been making waves in the media as of late. Whether you have heard of it’s amazing price tag, it’s exceptional new safety tech, or simply just like how the new design looks here is everything you need to know about the all-new 2017 Subaru Impreza!
Let’s start with some of the major changes coming to the Impreza for the 2017 model year. First, the 2017 Impreza is getting bigger! That’s correct, the sporty and often called “Tiny” Subaru has grown. This has been done to provide more interior space as well as aide the vehicle in it’s new global design. Second, fuel efficiency is up! What exactly does that mean? Subaru decided to include a direct-injection engine in the Impreza’s final build which has proven to both increase power and decrease fuel usage. Lastly, Subaru has changed the Impreza platform from the ground up. The new global design will share components between other Subaru models. Oh and did we mention that the Japanese vehicle will be manufactured here in the U.S.?
When Will It Be Here?
The 2017 Subaru Impreza has been completely redesigned. We can expect the new Subarus to start rolling into dealers by at least December. The price is up a few hundred dollars but that is saying a lot when there has been so much added to the new design. If you cannot wait for the completely redesigned 2017 Subaru Impreza then feel free to come give us a visit at Bertera Subaru in West Springfield to test drive or even purchase your very own 2016 model. For more information on pre-ordering or getting your hands on a 2017 Subaru Impreza please contact us.
The New Premium Interior
Subaru has gone above and beyond when it comes to their newly-designed interior for the 2017 Impreza. New premium materials are being used for the soft-touch interior. Many reviewers have already expressed their excitement about Subaru’s new premium interior. It’s a premium feature for an economic price, what more could you want in a vehicle?
Subaru Eyesight Updates
Lane Keep Assist will be available in the 2017 Impreza. What does Lane Keep Assist do exactly? It uses a number of sensors and cameras to keep your vehicle in-between the two lines that make up your lane. The feature will lightly nudge you back into your own lane should you begin veer. Blind Spot Detection is another new feature available on the 2017 Impreza. A small indicator light on your mirror will light up when a vehicle is in that pesky blind spot. High Beam Assist and Steering Responsive Headlights are two more new features added the Impreza’s impressive Eyesight lineup.
Android Auto & Apple Carplay
Plenty of manufacturers are making their infotainment systems compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay for a reason, it’s changing the game. If you would like the control of your phone while driving in comfort this is the option for you. Apple Carplay and Android Auto give you the control of your phone on your infotainment screen. This includes navigation, voice calls, and much more. For more information on Android Auto and Apple Carplay and which one might be right for you please click here.

Are we surprised? The answer is no, and has been for a while. Even with all of the broken records from this year’s ACR model, the Dodge Viper just is not a feasible vehicle. If you have over a hundred grand to blow then one of the new five 2017 Dodge Viper Special Editions may be perfect for you. The 2017 Dodge Viper will be the final model year the car is produced.
After a pretty solid 25-year run the, track king, Dodge Viper is coming to an end. Rather than explaining the entire press release we have included it below along with a video summary from our friends at The Fast Lane Car. Check them out and let us know which Viper Special edition you like best!
Since it is the final year the Viper will be produced, Dodge has surprised us with not one or two special editions but five individual special editions! Like you would imagine in true Dodge style each is heavily equipped with both visual and performance increasing modifications. In other words the 2017 Dodge Viper is looking amazing! The five special editions offered for the 2017 model year will be:
•The Viper 1:28 Edition ACR
•Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR
•Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC
•Viper VoooDoo II Edition ACR
•Viper Dodge Dealer Edition ACR
Now this doesn’t even begin to cover the “1 for 1” program Dodge is offering to allow you to create a one of a kind Dodge Viper. There will never be another Viper like it. If you are interested in rare vehicles this may be another option for you to explore.
Now you are probably asking what is next for the Viper and Dodge? We do not have an answer for you. However, what we can say is that Dodge has had plans to revive older performance vehicles. The future is bright for Dodge and perhaps we may see the revival of the Viper one day. For now we will all have to settle with these final versions of the Dodge Viper and we couldn’t be more satisfied.
The guys from The Fast Lane Car have a video dedicated to the final year of the Dodge Viper, check it out!

Flood Damaged Vehicles are considered, vehicles that were harmed by the water level being raised to seating level. Most flood damaged cars, suvs and trucks are sent to a salvage area, however some are tidied up and taken directly into the market where they will be purchased by unsuspecting customers who think they are getting a great deal. Flood water can leave quite a bit of unseen damage on a vehicle. When it is time to get into a new vehicle be on the lookout for these cars even if you do not live in an area where it floods often, because dishonest individuals move them around. Here are some tips and suggestions to help you spot a vehicle with flood damage.
•Get a Vehicle History Report•
There are a number of websites and resources that allow you to enter the vehicle’s VIN number to get a history report. Carfax does a great job of investigating a vehicle’s background, but a clean slate is not a 100 % assurance that the vehicle or truck has not suffered water damage.
•Look for Moisture•
Search for moisture within the lights. Inspect the glove console, compartment and trunk and inspect them for any indication of wetness, moisture or dirt that appears to be a leftover from a flood. Look under the hood for accumulated dirt or indications of rust or rot. Check under the seats for signs of wetness. Check the wheel wells for signs of rust or rot.
•Have a Sniff•
This can truly assist in spotting flooded cars. Do you smell a sour, mildew-like smell? Drenched seats, carpeting and other components are hard to dry in a hurry, so there is more than enough time for mold and mildew to grow, especially if the flood occurred in a hot and humid place.
•Look for Mismatched Interior Components•
Does the carpeting have a different brand name or is it even too new-looking for the vehicle? Do the seat covers match the carpeting? Elements that do not match up may have been changed out after the vehicle was removed from the flood waters.
•Let Your Technician Have a Look•
Skilled auto professionals see proof of flood damage, on average, more than the majority of individuals do, so they know precisely what to look for. If you want to be sure you are not buying a flood damaged vehicle you may want to bring it to multiple technicians before finalizing your purchase.
•Turn it On and Go for a Drive•
The vehicle is being sold because it is deemed safe for the road, so jump into it and get testing! Turn the vehicle on and inspect as many electrical systems as you can. Some of these systems include the outside and interior lights, the clock(s), the audio system, and of course the dash lights that display safety and maintenance information. Test these components a few more times to be completely sure they are all working as intended. Most vehicles that have suffered from flood damage will have at least a few electrical components that will need to be repaired or have been replaced already. It is very unusual for a vehicle that has suffered flood damage to have all the electrical systems working and no signs of flood damage.
Flood damaged vehicles only supply trouble. If you suspect a vehicle has flood damage leave it. Even if the dealer or car seller assures you there is no flood damage be sure to check for yourself.
TL;DR
•Parts that do not match-up might have been changed in a rush after the car was pulled from flood waters.
•90 % of the time you will be able to find an electrical issue with a flooded vehicle unless it has been repaired or the electrical parts were not harmed, which is extremely uncommon.
•Flooded vehicles should be avoided at all costs. Only issues will arise, unless you are looking to perform a restoration. If you need assistance identifying a flood damaged vehicle be sure to reach out to your service technician.
Images have recently hit the internet that would claim Jeep is already testing a vehicle that strongly resembles their Wrangler line, the only difference is this vehicle has a full-sized pickup bed. If you look closely at the images, included below, you will find that the bed closely resembles the one used on the Ram 1500. Also note that the wheels don’t look like they’ve been properly fit in the wheel wells just yet. These are only a few indicators that this vehicle may still be in the early stages of testing. Also note that Mike Manley, head of Jeep and Ram, has mentioned in the past that the Jeep pickup will be very different from the Ram Truck models.
The images below display a 4-door model, much like that of a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The bed is pretty large when you compare it to the two concept vehicles included below. Some people actually think the current design of the bed shares the design of the Ram 1500 intentionally as camouflage while Jeep is working on the real bed. It’s being said that we could see a pickup-style Jeep by 2019 at the latest. Have a look at some of the images and let us know what you think in the comments below!
