Are we surprised? The answer is no, and has been for a while. Even with all of the broken records from this year’s ACR model, the Dodge Viper just is not a feasible vehicle. If you have over a hundred grand to blow then one of the new five 2017 Dodge Viper Special Editions may be perfect for you. The 2017 Dodge Viper will be the final model year the car is produced.

Since it is the final year the Viper will be produced, Dodge has surprised us with not one or two special editions but five individual special editions! Like you would imagine in true Dodge style each is heavily equipped with both visual and performance increasing modifications. In other words the 2017 Dodge Viper is looking amazing! The five special editions offered for the 2017 model year will be:

Now this doesn’t even begin to cover the “1 for 1” program Dodge is offering to allow you to create a one of a kind Dodge Viper. There will never be another Viper like it. If you are interested in rare vehicles this may be another option for you to explore.

Now you are probably asking what is next for the Viper and Dodge? We do not have an answer for you. However, what we can say is that Dodge has had plans to revive older performance vehicles. The future is bright for Dodge and perhaps we may see the revival of the Viper one day. For now we will all have to settle with these final versions of the Dodge Viper and we couldn’t be more satisfied.

June 22, 2016 , Auburn Hills, Mich. – Dodge is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Viper with five serialized special edition models to commemorate the final year of Viper production.

Continuing for the 2017 model year is the exclusive Viper “1 of 1” customization program that enables buyers to create their one-of-a-kind “Snake” from the ground up. With 16,000 exterior color options, including matte exterior finishes, 24,000 custom stripe colors, 11 wheel options, 16 interior trims and seven aero packages, three brake packages and four suspension options, there are more than 50 million ways for buyers to customize their one-of-a-kind Dodge Viper.

The fifth generation of the flagship performance machine of the Dodge and SRT brands features more power and performance, superior craftsmanship, new technologies and creature comforts. Powering the 2017 Viper is an all-aluminum 8.4-liter V-10 engine that delivers 645 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque — the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car engine in the world. Standard Viper safety features include electronic multistage stability control, traction control and a new four-channel anti-lock brake system.

The newest Dodge Viper ACR (American Club Racer) launched in 2016 and has taken the performance car world by storm by becoming the indisputable “ultimate street-legal race car” with more track records than any production car in the world — a total of 13 road course lap records as certified by the Sports Car Club of America.

Since 1992, Dodge and SRT have built approximately 30,000 Vipers at the Mack Avenue Assembly (1992–1994) and Conner Avenue Assembly Plant (1995–current), both in Detroit.
