\nSunday September eighteenth marked the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Holyoke Community College<\/a>. A few hundred people came out to show their support for the cause by walking anywhere from a quarter mile to a full mile and a half. Mix 93.1<\/a> and 94.7 WMAS<\/a> were both on site with prizes and great music for the event. Although we were a little short we still managed to gather $150,481.57 of our $231,000 goal! <\/p>\n\"Amount\n

There were a number of events before the walk officially began including a ceremony, warm-up Zumba and a whole slough of tents and vendors. There was useful information for those looking to make the switch to a retirement community. There were a few retirement organizations present with entire teams prepared to walk including Loomis Communities<\/a>, Brookdale Senior Living<\/a>, Home Instead Senior Care<\/a> and more! It was great to see everyone come out in support of the End to Alzheimer’s. <\/p>\n

The Palmer High School Band<\/a> was present and ready to set the pace for the participants. They did an excellent job keeping all of the walkers hyped up too!
